Well done Yannick for the win and taking the Championship as now you cannot be caught in the last race.

Grats to Piero and Raoni for the podiums. Thanks all for racing.

I enjoyed the track in the Cooper and for the first 6 laps I was able to apply some pressure to Yannick until I lost it at the last turn.
It took too many seconds to recover and Piero passed into second.

After that I pushed too hard and overheated the left rear followed by a couple of spins and more time lost.
I still held 3rd place until the engine let go with 3 laps remaining.
Not the finish I was wanting but still good fun racing.

Thanks GPLRACER for organising and hosting.

See you at Spa !!

Congratulations Yannick for the win and taking the Championship :handgestures-thumbup:
Bravo Raoni for the Podium
Bad luck for Paul
Too bad that Pedro is out of the game but he remains in 3rd place.

I had a good start but at the T6 I braked a moment late and went long and found myself in seventh place,
in front of me they touched each other, I managed to pass unscathed, I passed a Ferrari and tried to chase the leaders.
I could not warm up the tires and the car was difficult to drive, I understood that I would not be able to get them back and I was expecting something to happen,
at a certain moment Paul turned around giving me the second position. I thought that Paul recovered me instead I kept the position until the end.

I struggled and I think I made last minute setup errors.

Thanks to the organizers and everyone for the fun :auto-layrubber:

I'd just like to doff my cap to Bastian whose race had such an unlucky start, yet he finished, bravo Bastian :what no tipping hat icon?:
His opening laps were so "wtf" many would have quit! Considering our 2nd contact particularly, sorry, I did not expect you to brake there
It was a poor race from me, I was rushing having only got home at 20:20 but I had some pace and was optimistic of a good finish. Sadly, after Pedro & Doni got together it all went sideways
Grats podium & finishers, thanks admins as always :fistbump:

BTW what happened to Österreichring?

After two races without seeing the checkered flag, now I managed to race until the end!

As a completely new track for me, it took me some time to get the braking points and a nice pace. Also, I seem to have more troubles to learn a track that is too flat and wide. After some online laps on the practice server, I decided to get the Brabham due to its reliability and stable chassis. All I wanted was to finish the race, no matter which position.

A 2:28 lap put me in a nice 4th on the grid and I guess I wouldn't be able to do any better, looking at the times those flying top-3 guys did! It was so exciting to see, even in a +2:00 laptime track, so many drivers close on times. Any half a second slower could drop you down some places on the grid.

At the start I lost one place and went down to 5th, which was kinda good, taking into account the keyboard start. The lightweight and agile Brabham helped a lot in this department. So during the first corners I tried to be extremely cautious, but also trying to avoid losing any more places. Then Pedro clipped the tyres in a corner and spun in front of me. As I was already diving into the corner, I found myself without any chance to avoid the contact. I guess it was more of bad luck of both of us. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, I was lucky to rejoin with apparent no damage to my car. In last place, though.

Soon after the first lap I saw some smoke and cars spinning on the approach to T2. This time I had way more luck and could avoid the ones who had crashed. So, in a matter of seconds, I found myself back to the pack. After overtaking Tom, I got close to Stefan and Pavel, who were in a nice battle for 5th and 6th places. A 360º spin on the last corner delayed my approach to this fight, but on the following lap I could be near them again.

Pavel was really doing a good job in front of us and I guess it would be an easy task to get past his powerful Ferrari. But then he made a mistake, lost some momentum and, at the same time, me and Stefan passed him. For a second, it reminded me that Hakkinen-Schumacher move in Spa 2000
Now chasing Stefan, it took me some time to really get in a position to try a move. I was able to do it braking for the esses. Not without scaring myself and him. I lost the front of the car a little bit and, for a second, I thought I would mess up and have contact with him, but he was really smart and nice to notice my little mistake and give some room. Sorry for scaring you, Stefan

After that, I had him on my mirrors for a couple of laps until he lost some ground. Then I found myself in a lonely race, trying to keep my concentration and pace. It seems to have worked, once I managed to get into the 2:27s. In the closing stages of the race, I was promoted to 3rd after seeing Paul's car stopping near the pitlane. Sorry for the bad luck, Paul :( You had a certain podium on the way.

First podium here, couldn't be happier! Let's see now if I can have a sequence of races without DNFs. Being constant is the key for a good GPL championship.

Grats Yannick for the win and the championship!! You are really fast with these cars
Grats also Piero for the podium and finishers!
And thank you all the organisers who put a lot of effort to guarantee our fun
See you in Firebird with the 65s

Hey all,

I had a solid qualifying, got pole position thanks to some tow I received from Roo in the third and fourth sector.
At the start Piero beat me off the line, though, and took the lead, but made a mistake halfway the first lap which made him fall back.

Paul kept the pressure on me for a good portion of laps and had a couple of shots trying to pass me,
but I was able to defend my position.
At the end of lap 6 he spun off which left me untouched for the rest of the race.

As some pointed out, due to Paul's engine giving out near the end of the race,
it has become mathematically impossible to get past me in the championship now.
Thanks for the congratulations :)

Grats to the podium and finishers.
Well done Raoni getting a podium with a keyboard!
See you next race.
